FURY FC PHILOSOPHY AND OFFERINGS
Fury FC is dedicated to creating a safe, fun, and growth-oriented soccer experience based in Powhatan County. Our soccer programs have been designed to support soccer ambitions at all levels of competition and for all skillsets.
Over the last couple of years, Fury FC has been extremely focused on reestablishing our brand and appeal as a top sports club in Powhatan. Faced with the dubious challenge of rebuilding post pandemic, we opted to start with our base, which is our Recreation Program, to bring in a sustainable pipeline of young players who can grow in the sport of soccer and be the future for Fury FC.
Starting this spring and for seasons to come, we are structuring our programs to optimize player growth while creating varying levels of competition designed to keep our home-grown players in Fury FC.
Explained in greater detail below, here is the player growth model for Fury FC:
Entry Level Competition
Recreation Program
This program is designed to welcome players of varying experience and skill levels to help build passion and skill for the sport of soccer. Players will start at U6 with group training provided by Fury FC’s Technical Director to establish a consistent foundation of soccer skills. Players who wish to continue their soccer journey in this entry level of competition may do so from U6 to U12. After U12, players can continue with recreation level soccer in our Cross Association Program.
Mid-Level Competition
Advanced Player Development (ADP), Pre-Travel, and Cross Association
Players looking to expand their soccer knowledge and skills have several options to consider within Fury FC.
Advanced Player Development (ADP) is for players aged U7-U9 who are seeking more technical training and a higher level of competition from our Recreation Program. ADP offers twice-weekly training, led by the Fury FC Technical Director and staff, to build ball skills, body awareness, and field skills. These players will develop skills and confidence that will prepare them for Pre-travel Cross Association.
*Pre-Travel Cross Association is for players U10-U12 who want to continue their soccer journey with targeted skill development while playing regional competition in the Richmond area. Players will have twice-weekly practices with emphasis on ball skills, passing, field awareness, and team chemistry. Players will be slotted on teams with experienced coaches who will prepare players for higher levels of competition.
Cross Association is for players U14-U19 who want to continue their soccer journey in a more recreational style of play, against regional competition in the Richmond area. Players will have twice-weekly practices with emphasis on continued growth in the sport, led by parent coaches.
Top-Level Competition
Travel
Players seeking the highest level of competition for ages U13-U19 can join Fury’s Travel Program. This program, led by paid, licensed coaches, will allow players to continue their soccer journey with more rigorous training, higher expectations, and stretched goals for player development. Teams will play competition inside and outside of the Richmond area. Our travel program will help prepare players for high school and college level soccer.
